Building Bridges has partnered with the United States Postal Service creating commemorative special postal cancellations and ceremonies to commemorate significant people, places, events and history. The series started in 1996 and ceremonies have included Tall Ship battles on the water, plane formations, helicopters, boat regattas, world music premieres, film screenings, art unveilings and more. Karen Earle Lile, is the conceptual artist for the series. Each event is unique and is initiated by a Postmaster for the United States Postal Service.
